Ingri Midgard Fiksdal is a Norwegian choreographer and performer. She is currently a Research Fellow at The Oslo National Academy of the Arts/ Norwegian Artistic Research Fellowship Program. Fiksdal’s work tours internationally to venues such as brut-Wien (AUS), Kapnagel (DE), Inkonst (SE), MDT (SE), In Between Time (UK), ANTI festival (FI), The Armory Show (US), LIMIT Festival (RS), HIFA (ZIM), Nordwind (DE), Baltoscandal (EST) and Homo Novus festival (LT). Fiksdal’s work deals with perception and affectivity, and several of her pieces take shape as part performance and part live concert. The audience is always integral to the work, which aims to produce temporary collectives between performers and spectators. An ongoing theme within Fiksdal’s work is the ritual, and the rituals’ inherent capacity of transforming and ultimately transcending its partakers.www.ingrifiksdal.com
Ginger Krebs is a Chicago-based performer and director whose work probes the problem of being embodied and wonders at the body as our means of redemption. She has presented work locally at Links Hall, The Cultural Center, The Hyde Park Art Center, Epiphany Episcopal Church and the Dance Center of Columbia College. Krebs is an adjunct assistant professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she teaches performance and time arts. www.gingerkrebs.com
Michal Samama creates body-based art , incorporating movement, everyday objects, sound, text and site-specific practices. Her work moves between the theater, the gallery and the public space, exploring the different dynamics by which these spaces are capable of ‘framing’ art.
She recently presented works at Theatre de la Ville in Paris, ASPECT RATIO Gallery in Chicago, Intima-Dance and Curtain Up Festivals in Tel Aviv and was commissioned by The Chocolate Factory Theater in New York.
In Chicago, her work has been presented at Julius Caesar Gallery, EXPO CHICAGO 2014, 6018 North Gallery, Rapid Pulse Festival 2014 and TBSO3 at Defibrillator Gallery, Out of Site 2015, Mana Contemporary, Links Hall, TRITRIANGLE and Northwestern University. In New York she presented her work at New York Live Arts, Movement Research at Judson Church, Performance Mix Festival, Dixon Place, Joyce SoHo, CPR, Chez Bushwick, Priska C. Juschka Gallery, AUNTS and the 92nd Street Y, where she also curated Sunday At Three in January 2012.
Samama is a graduate of the MFA performance program at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is the recipient of SAIC 2013-15 New Artist Society Scholarship Award, Edes Semi-Finalist Fellowship Award and the James Nelson Raymond fellowship.
The HUB is a place for the IN>TIME festival to gather and reflect. It is a series of discussion panels, a place for writers and thinkers to deeply engage in the performance work in the festival, and for the artists to expand upon their work. It is another way for us to be present with one another and come together for a moment in performance.
